WELFARE SECTION

The Welfare Section of the Consulate is in charge of the following Services:

i. Registration of Nigerian organisations and individuals;

ii. Authentication of Nigerian documents such as;
- Birth and death certificates
- Marriage and divorce certificates
- Drivers licences

iii. Processing of INS requests for clearance by the Nigeria Police;

iv. Paying consular visits to and maintaining statistics of Nigerians in prison;

v. Processing requests for consular assistance to distressed Nigerians;

vi. Issuance of travel documents for Nigerian deportees;

vii. Interpretation of the position of Nigerian native laws and customs on
certain issues like marriage, divorce and custody of children; and

ix. Processing of transit permits for the repatriation of the remains of
deceased Nigerians.
